Retirement

Participation in the Texas County & District Retirement System (TCDRS) with a 7% employee contribution matched at a 2.5:1 rate by the department. An optional 457(b) deferred compensation plan is also available.

Healthcare

Employee health, dental, and vision insurance as well as a $50,000 life insurance policy are covered at 100% by the department. Family health insurance is covered at 75%. Occupational cancer and additional life insurance are also available.

Incentive Pay

Additional compensation opportunities are offered through education incentives, professional certifications, and longevity pay.

Education

Employees have access to annual discretionary funding for formal education, as well as job-specific training and professional development.

Paid Time Off & Sick Leave

Full-time operational personnel accrue 168 hours of paid time off annually, with accrual increasing through longevity up to 336 hours per year. Employees also receive 144 hours of paid sick leave each year.

Holiday Pay

10 annual holidays are recognized, with an additional 2 floating holidays available to use.
